After the brilliant success of Friday night’s Croke Park gig, instead of hitting Harcourt Street, The Boss decided to spend Saturday evening in none other than the Leisureplex bowling alley in Stillorgan.
Springsteen was at the entertainment complex at around 8:15pm yesterday evening and spent a couple of hours there, we can confirm.
“There was great excitement, locals running around saying ‘Oh my God!’” Dee McDonald from the local Brookville House B&B told independent.ie.
“He had quite a number of security with him and blackout vans. There was security on the door, not the gate,” McDonald said.
“It’s one of his usual things to go there. He was expected,” she said.
“Everyone was very excited, but nobody gate-crashed. The locals are used to celebrities being around the area. It’s great he’s back in town.”
“We’ve had people stay with us from far and wide for the concert. It’s chock-a-block here. People from Vienna, the UK, it’s not just people from the country.”
“Some are going to the second concert as well. It’s a very excited energy. We wish him a hearty cead mile failte,” McDonald said.
It seems that The Boss really loves bowling, as he booked out the entire Leisureplex in Stillorgan the last time he was in town in 2012.
Springsteen also let off some steam in Dublin on his day off on Saturday following his rousing Friday night Croke Park gig for 80,000 fans.
Never one to hide in his hotel when he's in town, he popped down to The Long Hall pub on South Great George's Street for a pint, much to fellow punters' delight.
He has been spotted in the Merrion Hotel and rumour has it he'll pass through his other favourite watering hole, O'Donoghues on Baggot Street, too.
Here he is back in 2013 enjoying a pint with fan Angie Sheehan at the Long Hall. He certainly has his favourite haunts!
On Thursday the 66 year old rocker was spotted pumping iron at FlyeFit gym on Baggot Street. Here he is with manager Lee Dennis:
