Brian McFadden announces live show in Whelans on back of Call on Me Brother single release
Brian McFadden has announced a live show in Whelans, Dublin on November 4 following the release of his new single, Call on Me Brother.
Call on Me Brother was co-written by the former Westlife star and Jamie Cullum's brother Ben.
The song will be available to download and stream after its premiere on Terry Wogan's Radio 2 show on Sunday and releases on September 25.
McFadden previously played Whelans as a new solo artist after he left Westlife in December 2004 and enjoyed some success with number one single Real to Me.
In 2013 he released the album The Irish Connection which entered the charts at 75. Since then his projects have mainly been TV based so he's excited about returning to his musical roots.
"It’s great to be releasing new music again," said Brian.
"I’ve been back in the studio writing and recording this year, so being able to release ‘Call On Me Brother’ and my ITV series ‘Who’s Doing The Dishes’ coming back on air soon, it’s going to be an exciting few months ahead….not to mention the live shows later in the year!"
Speaking to OK! magazine recently he said a Westlife reunion may be possible at some point.
"The last time all five of us were in the same room was in 2010 when we went out for dinner, and that lasted about 45 minutes," he revealed.
"Maybe one day we'll do something together, but it certainly won't be on The Big Reunion."
He also said he would love to work with Ed Sheeran.
"We've spoken about writing together. I would love to work with him, it would be amazing."
Tickets for Brian's Whelans gig are €23 and go on sale on Friday September 4.
