Bobby Brown tells concertgoers Bobbi Kristina is 'awake', and aunt says she's no longer on life support
Bobby Brown told concertgoers his comatose daughter Bobbi Kristina “is awake”.
The 46-year-old singer made the shocking statement about his 22-year-old daughter, who he shares with late singer Whitney Houston, while performing at a concert in Dallas, Texas over the weekend.
Bobbi Kristina has been in a medically induced coma since the close of January, but in an Instagram video posted by a fan, her father Bobby made a surprising statement to the crowd while onstage Saturday night.
“I can say today, Bobbi is awake. She’s watching me,” Bobby said, with the packed audience screaming in response to his statement.
Bobbi Kristina’s true medical condition remains unconfirmed, as the Brown family have yet to release an official statement on the matter.
It was unclear as to whether or not Bobby meant his words metaphorically or sincerely but Bobbi Kristina's aunt Tina Brown yesterday posted a message to Facebook saying her niece was off life support.
"So many messages, sorry can't answer them all right now but I will get to them later.." she wrote. "Just allow me this time with my family,,yes, she woke up and is no longer on life support!!!!!:):)God is good!!thanks for your prayers,,still a process, but she is going to be ok:):):):)."
Bobbi Kristina was hospitalised on January 31 after being found unresponsive in the bathtub of her Roswell, Georgia home.
