Blur Vs Oasis all over again as Justin Bieber accuses One Direction of releasing album on same day as his for publicity
Flasback to 1995 and it's the Battle of Britpop - Blur Vs Oasis release singles Country House and Roll With It on the same day.
And it looks like One Direction have taken a leaf from Damon Albarn's Book of Clever Publicity by scheduling the release of their new album on the same day as Justin Bieber's latest offering.
1D's 'Made in the AM' and Bieber's 'Purpose' will both release on November 13 and Biebs feels it's a calculated move by the British (and Irish - hello Niall) band.
"They're not really going on the road much, but we're talking about them right now, so it gives them some promo, right?" Bieber told New Zealand radio show Smash.
"So, that's probably why they did it… I think it was strategy on their part because my release date was first. But whatever.
"It's going to be fun. I'm excited to see what happens."
Indeed it is going to be fun, not least since they each have the most dedicated, loyal fans on the planet in the Beliebers and Directioners.
