US president Barack Obama took to Twitter today to share his summer 2016 playlist and it's full of blues, funk, 90's r'n'b and soul classics.
Obama is continuing his tradition of releasing summer music playlists, after last year's debut release.

On Thursday, the outgoing US president took to Twitter to share his new Spotify 'mixtape'.
And it seems that he couldn't narrow his tastes down to just one playlist so he split them up into Day and Night.
The Day selections are perfect for summer barbecues in Martha's Vineyard (where the Obamas are vacationing this year) and features an eclectic mix of previous White House performers (like Janelle Monae, Jidenna, and Sara Bareilles), mixed among classics like the Beach Boys 'Good Vibrations', Prince's 'U Got The Look' and Aretha Franklin's 'Rock Steady' and unexpected surprises such as Australian alt-rock singer Courtney Barnett and r'n'b guitarist Leon Bridges.
It's upbeat, bluesy and fitting for lazy, hazy, summer days.
When the sun goes down, side two comes out.
The Night playlist is rooted in jazz, soul, r'n'b and funk. It's filled with steamy slow jams like Janet Jackson's 'I Get So Lonely', D'Angelo's 'Lady', Corinne Bailey Rae's 'Green Aphrodisiac' and intriguing choices like Caetano Veloso's 'Cucurrucucu Paloma', Chance the Rapper's 'Acid Rain' and the sequential run of Billie Holiday's 'Lover Man' and some vintage Fiona Apple in the form of 'Criminal'.
It's available on Spotify under the title President Obama's 2016 Summer Playlist.
