U2's Adam Clayton and The Edge swapped the 3Arena for the political arena when they visited the Taoiseach's office yesterday morning, following the second of their quartet of sell-out concerts in the docklands venue.
The bassist and guitarist had an hour-long meeting with rock fan Enda to discuss the band's donation this week of €2m to Irish organisation Music Generation - which provides access to music tuition for thousands of children. A further €1m will be gifted by The Ireland Funds.
The meeting turned into a private tête-a-tête when the Taoiseach cleared his office for a quiet chat with the lads. Maybe he was asking for a lend of 'Elevation' as his election campaign song?
