Miley Cyrus has been involved in just a bit of controversy lately so last night’s album release party was the perfect excuse to let off some steam.
The 20-year-old singer rocked up to her ‘Bangerz’ album party in a skimpy Dynasty-esque satin skirt teamed with a matching pink bra-top.
Cyrus completed her look with ‘creeper’ shoes, a just-out-of-bed hairstyle and plenty of bling.
She posed for photos with her friends, but was sure to keep her fans updated on social network Twitter too.
“BangerzreleasepartyNY,” she captioned her photos from the night.
Miley posed for a few Twitter snaps, casually holding a cigarette in one.
She spoke to MTV News while promoting the record at New York's Planet Hollywood in Times Square and revealed the last song on the record is one of the most telling.
"If you keep listening to it, you can keep seeing where I change. And it's a real story and a real growing," she said, explaining, "I feel like I got to where I finally was on Someone Else, which was the end of the record. I've turned into someone else. That's what I mean about it kind of being like a story. I kind of all did it in that time."
Miley also talked about what she hopes fans will takeaway from the work. She compared recording Bangerz to the self-reflective time she spent filming her recent documentary Miley: The Movement.
"I hope they really see it as the arc that it is. Even when I did my documentary for MTV, it really showed a complete arc of where I was and where I am now so I hope they kind of see that," she said.
But, despite being determined to enjoy her night out, the singer revealed she is already working on her new music.
Miley, who recently conducted a transformation from Disney idol to controversial singer, says she has been writing new music because she is “already” in a different place to where she was when she wrote the album she just released.
“Everyone thinks I'm crazy but that's just because I have so much to say!” Miley told the Toronto Sun this past weekend.
“I'm already at a different time than I was when I finished the record.
“I’m working so much, I'm so disconnected, I feel like, from life. I need something to work for, but that's just how I've always been.
“I think then you have the drive, that's why I've been able to be successful.”
According to the outlet, Bangerz is already seeing sweeping success. The album is reportedly number one in 70 countries.
Miley has recently been involved in a spat with Dublin singer Sinead O’Connor following an open letter O’Connor wrote to the singer warning her to be careful of the music industry “exploiting” her.
