Miley Cyrus is back on Twitter
Miley Cyrus has rejoined Twitter despite banding it "lame" after quitting over a year ago.
The 18-year-old singer and actress posted a picture of herself on her record label Rock Mafia's page on the social networking site during a session of songwriting at the weekend.
Miley tweeted: "This is my new way to connect. When I need to speak out I will tweet from Rock Mafia."
Rock Mafia added: "She will tweet from here till we convince her to make a new account ."
Miley quit Twitter in October 2009 - when she had almost two million followers and used to tweet every day - to spend more time with her then boyfriend, Australian actor and The Last Song co-star Liam Hemsworth.
She later said: "I was that person who was like, 'I'm so sad. I have no real, normal life, everyone knows what I'm doing', and I'm like, well that's my own fault because I'm telling everyone.
"I just think it's kind of lame. I feel like I hang out with my friends and they're so busy taking pictures of what they're doing and putting them on Facebook that they're not really enjoying what they're doing ... So I think just enjoy the moment you're in, and stop telling people about it. Just enjoy it."
Miley's return to Twitter will please her fans who started a campaign to get her to rejoin the site back in 2009.
