Liz McClarnon has admitted her anxiety over an obsessed, threatening fan made her think twice about the Atomic Kitten reunion.

The girl group singer saw Robin Duke sentenced for his threatening Twitter messages to her over the last three years.

She said: "It's been horrible, difficult and not something I ever expected. I'm accepting of the fact that people want to take a photo of you when they see you or want your autograph, of course, and I love talking to fans. That's all part of this life and fame, but this has been absolutely horrible and terribly upsetting."

The experience made her think about the anxiety she had felt on her tours with the band and was a consideration in whether or not to take part in ITV show The Big Reunion, which got Atomic Kitten back together.

She said: "It did take me quite a long time to make up my mind about the reunion of Atomic Kitten after 10 years apart. It's not because I didn't want to get back with the girls but because there are pressures in this sort of lifestyle.

"Anxiety sort of crept up on me during the years when we were originally on the road as a band. While at times it was like one big party and we had a lot of fun, it could also be tough.

"I was very young and sometimes it was lonely being away from family and friends. There were many occasions when because of all the pressures, the constant exhausting touring, the focus and the tensions, I'd call my mum and go, 'I can't handle this'.

"I also think I have a naturally anxious personality, I tend to overthink things and overanalyse, and that doesn't help."
