Mayer organises benefit concert

John Mayer performed at a benefit concert in Montana

John Mayer has performed at his first concert in nearly two years.

The US singer-songwriter - who hasn't been able to hit the stage due to having treatment for a growth near his vocal cords - performed at a fundraiser he helped organise to benefit firefighters that helped save his home and others from a Montana wildfire.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported that John started with his first live performance of If I Ever Get Around To Living at a concert in Bozeman, Montana, which raised more than 100,000 dollars.

The fire raged in late August in nearby Livingston, while John was in Los Angeles receiving treatment for a growth near his vocal cords.

In May, a second granuloma was removed. The star said Botox injections used to keep his vocal cords from pressing together while they heal have limited his ability to hit high notes.
