ABBA fans may soon be in a position to say thank you for the music again as the prospects for a reunion of the super-group took a step closer.

The superstars could finally be reuniting after their most reticent member suggested she would finally consider performing again.

Agnetha Faltskog, the youngest of the former chart-toppers at 60, hinted that the band could come together for charity.

The group, who split in 1982, have previously dismissed any suggestion of a reunion. But yesterday the 'Observer' newspaper reported that Faltskog told a Swedish magazine: "I just feel it would be fun to meet, chat about the old days and perhaps perform together.

"We would not get together again for a tour like the Rolling Stones. I think we would all consider a one-off reunion, maybe for a good cause."

The group, including Bjorn Ulvaeus -- Faltskog's ex-husband -- Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, turned down $1bn (€700m) to play a 100-date world tour in 2000.

In July 2008, all four appeared together for the first time in 22 years at the Swedish premiere of the film 'Mamma Mia!'.
