Magical but incomplete Horslips Biography
A reminder of Horslips' brilliance was offered during their blistering set for the late Phil Chevron a few months back.
But since reforming almost a decade ago, the band have lived off glories earned in the 1970s. Biography collects their UK singles – A sides on disc one, B sides on disc two – yet doesn't feel as complete an anthology as 2009's Treasury does. Devotees will be disappointed that there's so little rare material, with the exception of Bridge from Heart to Heart – an outtake from the Aliens album sessions – and a live rendition of the Johnny & The Hurricane's 1959 instrumental stomper, Red River Rock.
The collection is released to coincide with the publication of their official biography, Tall Tales, which arrives on the 40th anniversary of the release of their most fabled album, The Táin.
