Madonna is to begin work on a new album next month, it has been revealed.
The 52-year-old star - who recently finished her directorial debut WE about the relationship between King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson - will return to the studio to start recording her 12th album, her manager Guy Oseary announced on Twitter.
Guy wrote: "Madonna goes into the recording studio next month to begin work on new album."
He added: "She has a good idea on which producers she will be working with" but did not reveal who.
In response to reports that Madonna is planning to rerecord some of her classic hits, he said: "There are no back catalogue plans currently. I met with Warner Music about that very subject... but nothing has come of it."
The Vogue star revealed in December she was keen to get back in the studio and appealed for artists to collaborate with.
She said: "Its official! I need to move. I need to sweat. I need to make new music! Music I can dance to. I'm on the lookout for the maddest, sickest, most bada** people to collaborate with. I'm just saying."
