'Living Legend' honour for Rush

Rush are to receive a "Living Legend" honour at Classic Rock magazine's annual awards.

The multimillion-selling Canadian trio are due to fly in to London to collect the title at the Marshall Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards on November 10.

Alice Cooper is to host the event at north London's Roundhouse venue.

Previous recipients of the award include Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne, Jimmy Page and Motorhead frontman Lemmy.

Rush singer Geddy Lee said: "We are thrilled to receive the Living Legend award from Classic Rock magazine. It's much better than the alternative!"

The band - formed more than 40 years ago - have worldwide sales in excess of 40 million. Hit albums include Grace Under Pressure, 2112 and A Farewell To Kings.
