Lily Allen made cricket club member
Thursday November 19 2009
Lily Allen has been made honorary member of Lancashire County Cricket Club.
The Fear star received a signed cricket bat from the squad including Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff and a lifelong membership in honour of her passion for the sport.
She revealed her love of cricket during the summer's Ashes series against Australia, tweeting throughout the game, and told the BBC: "It's such a polar opposite to what I do, it's so relaxing when my life is so fast."
Lancashire Chief Executive Jim Cumbes said: "Lily's admission over summer that she loves her cricket, particularly Test cricket, certainly increased the profile of the sport and this will hopefully lead to more people becoming involved in cricket.
"To acknowledge her work in promoting cricket, Lancashire County Cricket Club is delighted to make Ms Lily Allen an honorary member of the club as well as presenting her with her own County shirt and a cricket bat signed by the 2009 Lancashire squad including England stars Andrew Flintoff, James Anderson and Sajid Mahmood."
