The Kooks singer Luke Pritchard has apologised to Liam Payne for his Twitter rant about One Direction.

Luke told the boyband star that he'd deleted previous tweets in which he'd said One Direction didn't make real music.

The She Moves In Her Own Way singer tweeted: "@Real_Liam_Payne man, I regret having a rant but the machinery of the industry p***** me off. I respect you do your thing."

He added: "This whole thing now has gone too far. Gonna say I have my opinions but meant no offence, that's why I took down them there tweets. Love."

Luke criticised One Direction when he wrote: "Five Little Things We Learned From One Direction's iHeartRadio Album Release Party... stop this malfunction. world realign please. artists dying."

He also replied to a fan of both acts: "Do not like what I do. I'd rather anyone who likes One Direction never follow me. You literally have no idea how upset I am.

"How can you be a fan of something that has no life? I honestly feel so depressed that you are into Kooks (too)."

He continued: "Hahah I'm so drunk...Please buy real music... Rant... over."

Liam had replied to him: "Sad thing is we are/were fans of your band, nice one man verbally attacking your own fans how very rock and roll of you ;)"
