Kodaline wow crowds with unusual gig on Spike Island off the Cork coast

The Dubliners played an intimate set in front of just 100 fans on Ireland's version of Alcatraz.

But fans all over the world could get in on the action and see the boys perform against the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic ocean via Periscope, all thanks to Vodafone's 4G network.

The boys are fresh from their gig at the Galway Arts Festival and even though it's their only weekend off, they'd happily join Ed Sheeran on stage at Croke Park if he's stuck for a surprise guest.

"Hopefully we'll get to catch Ed this weekend. This is our only weekend off for the whole summer but you wouldn't turn down Ed if he asked you," Vinny told Independent.ie.

"Coke Park is a dream for us and if we had the opportunity to do it, it would be absolutely incredible," Steve added.
