Killers cover for climate change
Wednesday November 04 2009
The Killers have covered the Eagles classic Hotel California to raise funds for climate change.
The rock classic was given a funky Afro-Cuban makeover courtesy of backing group Rhythms Del Mundo.
The group - fronted by Brandon Flowers - are supporting Artists Project Earth (APE), a charity founded by musicians that has already raised millions for environmental charities.
Each year APE makes an award of £60,000 to one or more climate change initiatives from the proceeds of album sales.
The Killers version of Hotel California - to be released on November 30 - appears on APE's new Rhythms Del Mundo Classics album.
The Rolling Stones, Amy Winehouse, Keane, Editors, and The Zutons all also appear on the album.
