Jennifer Lopez' vocal 'graduation'
Thursday December 24 2009
Jennifer Lopez has said she won't ever "doubt" her singing abilities again, after finding a new confidence in her voice.
The multi-talented performer confessed to Access Hollywood that her self-confidence had taken a bashing in recent years "because there was a lot of talk" questioning her talent.
But Jennifer says performing for her husband Marc Anthony's birthday was like a "graduation" and helped her to feel strong again.
She said: "I sang a song for Mark's 40th birthday called My Man which is an old Barbra Streisand song - she's so my idol, I was like, 'I can't believe I'm trying to sing a Barbra Streisand song, this is insane!' but I sang it and it was almost like I graduated."
She went on: "I sang it and he had tears in his eyes and we were both like, 'what was that?' and I was like, 'finally, I am a singer, this is what I do!'"
J-Lo, who has been putting the finishing touches to a new album, added: "I don't ever have to doubt that in my mind, nobody can ever make me doubt it again."
