Jeff Beck: Joss Stone is 'electric'
Jeff Beck has gushed about his time working with Joss Stone, calling her "electric".
The rock guitarist collaborated with the Grammy-winning songstress on two tracks for his upcoming album, Emotion And Commotion, his first in seven years.
"Electric, she was - she's full on, Joss, she's a wild thing," he said.
Jeff, whose album will be released on April 12, was thrilled with Joss' performance on I Put A Spell On You.
"She just nailed it in a spectacular way," he said.
"We wanted a track that suited her, rather than she choose something she would be too powerful in. I thought, who screams in the rock era other than Little Richard? And I had the amazing idea of a Screamin' Jay Hawkins song. I remember hearing it at school and being literally scared."
He went on: "It's lunatic - it's operatic in one verse and then screams like a murderer in another - and I thought that's the song for Joss."
