Jedward swallow party leaders to top TV ratings charts for Eurovision
MORE people tuned in to see pop twins Jedward perform in the Eurovision than watched the leaders of the five main parties address the nation before the last general election.
A total of 1.18m viewers tuned in to see twins John and Edward Grimes representing Ireland at the finals in Dusseldorf in May.
It was the most-watched programme in the six months from January to June, new figures released by Nielsen Television Audience Measurement reveal.
And last night, RTE announced a new 'Jim'll Fix It'-type series featuring the twins, called 'OMG! Jedward's Dream Factory'.
To be broadcast later this year, it will see the two 19-years-olds waving their magic wands to make wishes come true for fans between the ages of eight and 16.
Meanwhile, scores of Jedward fans began queuing outside HMV in Dundrum Town Centre yesterday, 24 hours before a signing session to promote the new album 'Victory', which is released today.
