James Blunt's Polish hotel gaffe
James Blunt has upset some Polish fans after posting a picture of his hotel on Facebook.
The You're Beautiful singer, who is currently on a world tour, posted the picture of himself outside what appeared to be a building site near Krakow, with the caption: "Errr... this is my hotel in Poland."
The picture has provoked more than 6,000 comments, while some angry Polish fans thought he had insulted their country by posing outside a building which they thought wasn't his hotel, others appreciated the comment.
One wrote: "Dude, just don't come to Poland again!"
Another said: "People ain't having money for living, are working hard to raise children and praying to believe this all is worth it and you are crying because we are not Las Vegas or New York"
But James has defended himself, tweeting: "The picture I took really was part of my hotel. It was in Krakow, which, by the way, is a beautiful city."
The star was in Poland to perform at the Life Festival at Mosir Stadium, a few miles from Auschwitz.
Following incorrect reports that the picture was not taken outside his hotel, a spokesman for the singer said: "The reporting of this tweet is incorrect.
"Firstly the location was actually part of James' hotel. And secondly the hotel was in Krakow, which James has said is a beautiful city."
