Is Dublin ready for Miley Cyrus? Singer’s controversial stage show to hit capital
SHE’S made a full time job of stoking controversy since the MTV Awards – and Miley Cyrus brings her ‘Bangerz’ tour to Dublin tonight.
The former ‘Hannah Montana’ star has completely shed her good girl Disney image in the last year, thanks to raunchy stage shows and controversial lyrics.
20-year-old Cyrus has been in Ireland since the weekend – she played her first concert on the island last night in Belfast.
Parents who may have been living under a rock for the last year could be in for a shock if they expect a family friendly show tonight.
"I hear you guys are even sluttier than Americans," she shouted out to the arena during a recent London date.
"The dirtier you all get, the more chance you got of getting on that screen."
The star has maintained a relatively low profile during her stay in the Irish capital – however she has been spotted in a few of the city’s most trendy venues.
Despite her image as a hell raiser, the star happily posed for pictures with all fans who approached her.
She also posted some sombre messages to Twitter, as she struggles to come to terms with the sudden death of her beloved pet dog.
Fans also became concerned over the weekend when she tweeted a link to the music video of ‘Lucky’ by Britney Spears.
The Spears hit from 2000 focuses on a girl who is incredibly famous – yet feels alone and isolated by it all.
At the time many felt it was a message that the former Princess of Pop was feeling the strain.
Cyrus has admitted previously that Spears is her idol – they even recorded a song together for Cyrus’ latest album.
Miley Cyrus plays Dublin’s O2 arena tonight.
