Ian Brown goes home for park gig
Ian Brown is set to play a homecoming gig at Manchester's Platt Fields Park.
The former Stone Roses frontman will top the bill at the outdoor party with 15,000 fans on June 11, as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the venue, and reckons the show will be a trip down memory lane.
"I'm mad excited to be playing at Platt Fields - as a kid my dad used to take me to Manchester Carnival there," he told the Manchester Evening News.
Joining him are dance supremos UNKLE, Bad Lieutenant featuring New Order guitarist Bernard Sumner, Mancunian rockers The Whip, turntablists Scratch Perverts and DJ sets.
Ian - who had a cameo role in Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban - is expected to perform hits from his 14-year solo career as well as tracks from his new album, My Way, at the show, which has been organised by The Warehouse Project.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on March 4.
