Miley Cyrus said she would ‘rather choke on her own tongue’ than play the role of fairy Tinker Bell in an upcoming TV production of popular story ‘Peter Pan!’.
The controversial singer tweeted a photo of the report about her alleged interest in the role to her 17 million followers with the caption, “I would rather choke on my own tongue”.
The report, from Star magazine, reported that the 21-year-old wanted the role of NBC’s live broadcast of ‘Peter Pan!’ that will air next December.
Miley, who is currently on her much-anticipated Bangerz tour for her fourth studio album, has been keeping her name in the headlines with her controversial habits.
The ‘We Can’t Stop’ singer took the opportunity to kiss fellow popstar Katy Perry who was sitting in the front row during a recent show.
Last week, Miley’s concert promoter Live Nation denied reports that the tour could be cancelled following a flood of complaints from parents.
Miley’s performance of ‘Party of the USA’ in which she ‘does a Monica Lewinsky’ and simulates oral sex with a Bill Clinton impersonator was of particular concern.
“There is no truth whatsoever to any stories or rumours of venues pulling out of the Bangerz tour,” a statement read.
“Miley has created a tour that’s big, spectacular, entertaining and everything you would expect from Miley Cyrus. Reviews have been amazing and most important, fans are loving the show and having a great time.”
Cyrus also tweeted a retort to those criticising the controversial nature of her performances, including a picture of her strutting towards a “Parental Advisory Explicit Content” sign.
