Gladys Knight has been revealed as the latest singing diva to take on the role of reality TV judge.

The Midnight Train To Georgia singer will work as the lead judge on new singing talent show Apollo Live, to be broadcast on BET's sister network Centric.

The new series is a singing competition at New York's famous Apollo Theatre and puts a new spin on the venue's popular Amateur Night showcase.

Gladys joins previously announced judges Doug E. Fresh and Michael Bivins of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe.

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is an executive producer on the show, which will be hosted by Comedian-actor Tony Rock.

Centric said the winner will recieve a cash prize.

Apollo Live will air in the autumn.
