Gabriella Cilmi has said her music tastes make her like a "40-year-old man stuck in an 18-year-old girl's body".
The Sweet About Me star revealed she inherited a love of 70s rock such as Joan Jett, Suzi Quattro and Debbie Harry from her father, and wishes she could travel back in time to hear her favourite bands live.
Gabriella said: "I love older music. I was telling someone about that, although I said the wrong thing - he was this really cute guy and I said that I was a "40-year-old man stuck in an 18-year-old girl's body" because of my love of 1970s rock, and I think that was definitely the wrong thing to say!"
She added: "I just wish I could go back and listen to all the music I love at the right time. I love Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Blind Lemon Jefferson and all those old blues artists. I love Led Zep, The Sweet, T-Rex, all those glam bands too."
The Australian singer's new album Ten has a lot of older influences.
She said: "One of my bandmates gave me I Remember Yesterday by Donna Summer. That was the tipping point really, and that's when I got into Giorgio Moroder and his production. I loved what he did for Blondie, and I started watching Fame and Flashdance, so I wanted to dance and make people move when they heard my record. There are a few smoother tracks though, and there's a choir on one record."
