Florence to create window display
Florence Welch and Dizzee Rascal are to show off their artistic edge by creating window displays at Selfridges in London.
The pair are among 10 artists given free rein to create their designs in a project called Sounds Of The Mind.
Other names involved include chart stars Hot Chip, Empire Of The Sun and Paloma Faith, as well as hotly tipped The XX and Marina And The Diamonds.
Each of the acts has personally designed their display which they have based around one of their songs.
Sounds of the Mind is a celebration of the power of the lyric and is designed to tie in with the start of the festival season when it launches in May.
Florence - aka Florence And The Machine - has chosen to illustrate her track Cosmic Love.
She said: "Secretly I always thought if I wasn't a singer I would like to be a window dresser. I used to do a lot of art installations at art college so this really appealed to me.
"I was really excited about the idea of seeing the lyrics to my songs portrayed in such an original and exciting way. It's about creating a representation of the song in a visual sense so what a song would look like instead of hearing it."
Dizzee - who has chosen his hit Bonkers - said he was a regular shopper at the store and was honoured to take part.
"The concept behind this is crazy. I want people to be blown away, to see how creative we can be visually with my music," he said.
