Eric Clapton to perform in Dublin
Guitar legend Eric Clapton will perform one night in Dublin as part of his 2011 tour, concert promoters said.
The singer songwriter will take to the stage in the O2 on May 9 next year, followed by a night in the Odyssey in Belfast.
Tickets go on sale next Thursday.
He is due to release his 19th solo album this autumn entitled Clapton.
Aiken Promotions said Clapton had assembled an impressive band for the tour which includes long-time touring partners Steve Gadd on drums, Willie Weeks on bass, Chris Stainton on keyboards, and backing vocalists Michelle John and Sharon White.
Elsewhere critics are raving about the latest Clapton album which was co-produced by guitarist and long-time collaborator Doyle Bramhall II. It features an all-star cast of musical collaborations and guests including Steve Winwood, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Allen Toussaint, and Derek Trucks.
