RAPPER Eminem has pre-ordered stocks of Slane Castle Whiskey ahead of his return to the venue next month.
The performer, who famously pulled out of a Slane gig eight years ago, appears to be on the best of terms with the Mountcharles family now.
And it seems that he is a big fan of their whiskey.
The concert venue is set to open a new €12m distillery and visitors centre in 2015 and will use it to attract more big name acts for concerts.
But Eminem, who plays the famous venue on August 17, will be ahead of the rush.
“We are over the moon that we finally got planning permission [for the centre] and we think that this news will continue to attract massive music acts to Slane Castle,” Alex Mountcharles, managing director for Slane Castle Whiskey told the Herald.
“Obviously Eminem will be here before the distillery opens, but we have told him that he can come back for a tour of the place and the same goes for any of the music acts.
“He has ordered several cases of our whiskey so he seems to be a big fan which is great,” added the boss who is the son of castle chief Henry Mountcharles.
The project, due to commence construction later this year, will see the regeneration of the estate's 18th Century stable yards beside the castle.
And the Mountcharles family expects the distillery to attract up to 50,000 visitors annually.
The US star cancelled his show back in 2005, claiming “exhaustion, complicated by other factors.”
Henry was furious following the cancellation as were promoters MCD, who took legal action.
While Henry has not |spoken to Eminem since, Alex says that there is no bad blood.
“The concert is completely sold out with 80,000 tickets gone so it's great for Slane Castle and will be a fantastic weekend,” he added.
