Due to popular demand, Ed Sheeran will play a second date in Dublin this summer.

The chart-topping musician will bring the curtain down on his 2015 stadium tour with two finale gigs in Croke Park.

The pre sale for the red-haired singer's Friday 24th July gig is now sold out, prompting Aiken Promotions to add another date.

The concert promoter has confirmed that Ed will play a second date at Croke Park, Dublin, Saturday 25th July.

Sheeran had originally intended to end his tour at Wembley Stadium but the chance to play Croker proved too enticing to turn down.

"I've never been to Croke Park before but I've heard the most amazing things about it," he said.

"They don't do many concerts there so I never expected to play there."

Sheeran decided to add a further date to his stadium tour following the success of his VH1 Storytellers gig in Whelans last month.

"I enjoyed Dublin enough to extend a tour I [previously] said I would never extend," he said.

"I always love coming back to Ireland. Irish audiences are among the best in the world."

Tickets for both Ed Sheeran dates at Croke Park, Friday 24 July and Saturday 25 July, will go on sale tomorrow Thursday, 26 February at 9am from usual outlets.
