Depp forms supergroup with rockers
Johnny Depp looks set to cement his rock star status with news he has formed a supergroup with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.
The heartthrob actor is already a guitarist, with performances on records and live shows with the likes of Marilyn Manson and Steven Tyler under his belt, and he has now taken up a spot in The Hollywood Vampires.
The trio have already lined up a slot at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil in September, according to a tweet from Alice.
And he wrote on Instagram: "Confirmed! #RockInRio announces Debut Of#TheHollywoodVampires!
The #Supergroup, featuring #AliceCooper,#JohnnyDepp and #JoePerry plays on the same night as #QueensOfTheStoneAge and #SystemOfADown."
The band - which takes its name from Poison rocker Alice's group with other famous male rock stars in the 1970s - will be performing on the main stage at the event.
Johnny, who recently wed actress Amber Heard, has previously performed with both Alice and Aerosmith star Joe.
