Crowded House's family influences

Crowded House frontman Neil Finn says he has been inspired by his sons' musical tastes.

The band have relocated to the UK for a month of touring, ending at the Isle of Wight festival in June.

New Zealander Neil said: "I've got two young sons who both play music and having hung out with them and their friends I think I've got my ear tuned into what's been going on for the last 10, 12 years, so I hope it's had an influence."

He added: "Some of what we do remains familiar for people because it's who we are, but I think there's some echoes and new shades (on the new record Intriguer) that people won't have heard before."

Neil's sons have become professional musicians. Liam, 26, is a solo singer-songwriter while Elroy, 20, plays drums with Crowded House's support act, Connan Mockasin.

Crowded House first split after original drummer Paul Hester left in 1994. The band reconvened in 2006.
