Organisers of this weekend’s One Direction concerts said that they have been working tirelessly for weeks to turn Croke Park into “a giant children’s playground”.

Concert promoters MCD said that they are anticipating “lots of children, wristbands, water, screaming and earplugs” this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as 240,000 fans of the boyband descend upon the stadium.

In preparation for the three nights, Croke Park are rolling out a whole new menu for their catering unit as part of the alcohol free event, so revellers will be able to enjoy popcorn, candyfloss, pizza and nachos.

Croke Park management are also urging members of the public to use public transport to get to the venue, as their will be no parking in the area.

For residents close to the stadium, a freephone number has been established to deal with “community issues” and they can be contacted on 1800 303 593.
