Chris Daughtry's daytime struggle

Monday February 08 2010

Chris Daughtry has said his band's biggest challenge ahead of their performance at the Super Bowl was getting themselves hyped up so early in the day.

His band, called Daughtry, performed several songs at the American Football event including the hit Home.

"We're used to night-time shows ... but you just have to roll with it and pretend it's night-time," he said.

The lead singer joked that he was able to bring together a rowdy group of rival fans.

"There was a lot of segregation ... a lot of fights getting ready to break out," he laughed.

Guitarist Josh Steely interjected: "He eased that crowd though."

While most of the band said they were rooting for the New Orleans Saints, they still gave Indianapolis Colts fans some love.

Chris high-fived with a crowd of mostly Colts fans hanging out at a fence behind the stage, and later, he threw out guitar picks for the crowd.

The band kicks of a US tour next month.
