British teen who is Kanye West's only Twitter friend has 'no desire for fame'
Kanye West may have chosen to follow only one person on Twitter but the Coventry teenager appears distinctly underwhelmed.
Steven Holmes has attracted more than 3,000 followers since he received his celebrity endorsement.
However, the university student is still none the wiser as to why West chose him as his only friend on the social network.
He told the Coventry Telegraph: "The funny thing is I like his music but I'm not his biggest fan."
After initally being pleased to have a rap star among his friends the 19 year-old said he now doesn't think the attention was "worth it".
He tweeted: "This has been completely surreal and I really have no desire for this attention I'm just a normal person."
He added: "I won't be speaking to anybody else, surprisingly not everyone wants to be famous. That's all I'm saying - peace out."
The teenager said West started following him after he made a comment on West's own Twitter page.
When the man from the Midlands sent a message to Mr West saying "Holy ---- bro, thk for following!" the rapper replied: "You are the chosen one dun dun dun dun."
He gave no further reason for making Mr Holmes his only Twitter friend.
Mr Holmes has expressed pressure at having the singer tune in to his tweets. He tweeted: "I feel pressure to say amusing and witty tweets now that @kanywest is following" to which Mr West replied saying: "Tweet strong young man tweet strong!!!"
