Boyz II Men set to pen new songs
Boyz II Men have revealed they are about to start writing some new material.
Since 2002's Full Circle, the four-time Grammy winners - who plan to toast their 20th anniversary by releasing a double CD this year - have done three albums of covers, with the exception of 2006's The Remedy, which is only available in Japan and the US.
Wanya Morris promised: "For the 20th anniversary, we are going to do a double-CD - one of the CDs will be refurbished Boyz II Men records that weren't so obvious hits, then we're going to do another CD that are all new songs and it will be a nice ride."
He said the group will start writing once they complete their UK tour.
"We haven't actually started writing yet. We like to block out a period of time to get our minds into the actual writing aspect of it," he explained.
"You have to put your minds into it. Right now, when we're on the road, we're conceptualising but we're not actually putting anything together right now."
Wanya added: "We're going to record it independently but we're going to take the album to a label, and hopefully they'll take a ride with it. It's going to be fun, I say that much."
