James Blunt is attempting to set a new world record for the highest ever concert.
The singer, 36, will perform at 41,000ft in a Boeing jet at the end of the month.
Radio network Heart, which is organising the flight for its listeners, said it would offset carbon emissions to ensure the gig was carbon neutral.
James, who has sold more than 14 million albums around the world, will depart from Stansted airport on June 29.
The ex-Army captain's debut Back To Bedlam was the biggest-selling album of the Nineties.
The record-breaking attempt will mark RSA Insurance's 300th birthday.
