Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil has spoken of his relief at getting his wedding ring back after it fell into a lake during a shoot.

The Scottish musician lost the piece of jewellery while filming the band's latest video, God & Satan, but got it back with the help of a metal detector.

At the Kerrang! awards, Simon said he was "over the moon" to see his ring again, but added: "I was probably 10 per cent less happy than my wife was. I was over the moon but she was equally as over the moon if not 10 per cent extra."

Describing the incident, he said: "It got lost in the bottom of a lake and they never thought they'd find it, and they found it.

"They got a metal detector thing that floats along the surface of the bottom of the lake, and the guy found it.

"There's a great picture of him coming out of the water, it's like Lord Of The Rings, the hand comes first with the ring."

The Mercury nominated band scooped the best video gong at the Kerrang! awards for their single The Captain.
