Star manager Scooter Braun has defended Cruz Beckham - after the 11-year-old announced he was releasing a Christmas single.

David and Victoria Beckham's son joined Capital FM to sing a verse from the track, If Every Day Was Christmas, which he is releasing for charity.

"It's amazing. It's two of my favourite things - singing and Christmas - and it's amazing to put those together and the money is going to charity," he told the station.

Cruz's father, David, who also appeared in the FaceTime interview, said: "I'm really proud. He's having fun, he's enjoying it."

But after Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan criticised the Beckhams for allowing their youngest son to release a single, Justin Bieber's manager Braun, who is said to have signed up the young Beckham, waded in.

Morgan, getting out a "sick bucket", said: "I say why don't you go to school, mate, because you're not famous, your parents are famous ... stop putting these kids into the public domain while simultaneously saying privacy."

Braun hit back on Twitter, saying of Cruz: "He is an 11-year-old who wanted to make a song to help other kids. Once again Piers shows why he is a jackass and why his (US) show was cancelled.

"Some people in this world make a living out of finding the worst in every situation. It means they have a career ... not class. Just a career."

Cruz spilled the beans about his parents as he played the game Mr and Mrs Beckham during the Capital interview.

Asked who was more likely to fall asleep on the sofa while watching TV, he replied: "De finitely my mum."

Quizzed about who is more likely to say a naughty word, he added: "100% my mum."

He said his singer-turned-fashion designer mother was also more likely to tell a bad joke.

Asked who takes the longest to get ready, he replied: "100% my mum. My dad takes about 10 minutes, my mum takes about 10 hours."

But when questioned about who is "more likely to embarrass you", he added: "Definitely my dad."
