Dublin rock legends Aslan have announced a second date in May, after hufe demand for their first night in the Olympia.
The group will now play a second gig in the Olympia Theatre on Friday May 30
With the exception of the Night for Christy, which saw performances from a host of famous Irish acts, including U2, Aslan have not performed together as a band for over a year.
Lead singer Christy Dignam said that he feels like “Lazarus” with his musical return following his cancer battle last year and previous drug addictions.
The 53-year-old was diagnosed with two types of blood cancer early last year and while he said the condition is “incurable”, he is now free from cancer.
“I thought I was going to die last year so I never thought this day would come,” Christy told Independent.ie.
“We chose the Olympia because we feel comfortable there so we are just going to take it one day at a time and at a pace that suits Christy,” added guitarist Billy McGuinness.
The group said that they have no plans yet to add further dates to their gig performance, but are hoping to continue their 30 year success.
Tickets for the Olympia gigs are priced at €33.50 and are on sale now.
