Arctic Monkeys were most streamed of 2013

Rock quartet Arctic Monkeys were the most streamed artists of the past year.

The band, who headlined Glastonbury last year and whose fifth album 'AM' was nominated for the Mercury Prize, topped a list compiled by the trade association BPI and the Official Charts Company.

Runners-up in the list were Bastille, who also achieved the most downloaded artist album of the year with 'Bad Blood' and the biggest-selling debut of the year.

French duo Daft Punk, who had the second-biggest-selling single in the UK with 'Get Lucky', behind Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines', were in third place in the streaming list.

One Direction with Niall Horan featured at number five in the list. l Most streamed artists of 2013:
