Arcade Fire look set to land their first UK No1 album in this Sunday's chart.
The Suburbs, the band's first album for three years, is expected to put Eminem's Recovery in second place, according to the Official Chart update.
In the singles market, Beautiful Monster by Ne-Yo and Club Can't Handle Me by Flo Rida featuring David Guetta are battling for the top slot. Little more than 4,000 sales currently separate the two records.
Choices by The Hoosiers, which looks set to enter the Official Singles Chart this Sunday on the fringes of the top 10, is expected to be the only other high new entry.
