Adam Ant is back - and touring
Adam Ant hit the comeback trail as he showed off his new band and announced his first tour for 15 years.
The eighties chart star - who has battled with mental health problems for many years - has a new seven-piece act The Good, The Mad And The Lovely Posse which will tour in May.
He said: "I'm really looking forward to it.".
The line-up includes Georgina Baillie, the dancer and model who was at the centre of the Sachsgate scandal.
Ant - whose real name is Stuart Goddard - had a string of chart-topping hits including Stand And Deliver and Prince Charming.
The 56-year-old has now lined up a 15-date UK tour at which he promises to play his hits, covers "and a few surprises".
Asked why he was returning, he said: "I missed it - that's what I do. And the money."
He said these days he got more of a buzz out of performing "now I know what I'm doing".
Ant said he has recorded an 18-track album, which he will release on his own label.
Backing vocalist Baillie is the granddaughter of actor Andrew Sachs and was the subject of crude messages from Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross which were played on Radio 2 in 2008. The incident caused a furore and led to Brand and the station controller resigning. It also contributed to Ross leaving the BBC last year.
