Music: Rome by Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi ***

US production whizz Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) has teamed up with Italian composer Daniele Luppi (well known for his soundtracks for such dubious movies as Sex and the City) for a sumptuous, highly cinematic album inspired by the Eternal City of the title.

Jack White and Norah Jones -- both credited on the album cover -- lend their respective talents, with the latter's contribution providing an especially sweet fit. Say what you will about Jones, but she has an uncommonly lovely voice, best captured here by the enchanting Problem Queen.

It's lovely stuff, but very safe but when you consider Danger Mouse's usual sense of daring (and Jack White's, too).
