Music: Flase Priest by Of Montreal ****

The 10th long player to emerge from the weird and wonderful world of Kevin Barnes, False Priest is a bonkersly odd, but utterly beguiling album that boasts a wildly diverse range of musical styles. Funk, psychedelia, techno and new wave collide playfully and, occasionally, thrillingly.
Collaborators include artist of the moment Janelle Monae -- who on the basis of her work here (Our Riotous Defects; Enemy Gene), is incapable of putting a foot wrong -- and Beyonce's younger sister, Solange (Sex Karma).
Spare a thought for producer Jon Brion. In lesser hands, such a kaleidoscope of sounds would be a mess. Here, it's inspired.
