If abrasive, scatter-gun electro-punk is your thing, these Reading noiseniks should provide sustenance.
For those previously immune to their charms, this second album provides an especially tough listen.
It doesn't help that the band are so reluctant to curb their excesses, a feature that grates horribly when the album is listened to from beginning to end.
There are fleeting moments when their everything-and-the-kitchen-sink approach is harnessed -- step forward The Monkeys are Coming -- although one senses the effect is best appreciated live.
For the most part, this is one hideously overblown experiment after another.
A willingness to be different is to be encouraged, but when the results are as maddingly unlistenable as this, what's the point?
