The artists formerly known as Pivot -- the Sydneysiders had to change it after a legal wrangle with a US band of the same name -- have delivered an album that manages to straddle the inventive, intimidating sonic exercises the Warp label is famed for and the commercial catch-all sound to mop up the casual electronica fan.
Window epitomises that balancing act, especially its joyous, uplifting coda that's quite at odds with some of the album's more oppressive, introverted tracks.
Some will be reminded of labelmates Battles, especially in the more propulsive moments such as Light Up Bright Fires -- a masterclass in abrasive industrial noise.
