Zac wants bro to know he loves him
Zac Efron has said he had to ring his brother to tell him he how much he loves him after making Charlie St Cloud.
Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie, the actor said working on the emotional drama had made him appreciate his family
"I think I had a personal connection, having a little brother and all that happens in the movie, I sort of connected to the 'what if'" he explained.
In the film, Zac's character must deal with the death of his younger brother - and in real life the actor says he understood how painful that could be.
"My dad - every time I'm driving my little brother anywhere, he always says 'hey drive safe' and holds that look for a little too long and now I know why. It really tugged at my heart strings," he said.
"This is all reminiscent of me and my brother growing up, we played catch, we shared a room, we were in bunk beds for most of our lives.
"First thing I did when this movie was over I just called him and told him how much I loved him," Zac said.
