THE long awaited sequel to comedy ‘Anchorman’ has finally been given a release date – but the bad news for fans is they must wait exactly one year from today to see it.
Paramount pictures has confirmed that the movie will hit cinemas on December 20th 2013.
It is believed the plot of the new movie will see the news team at San Diago’s Channel 4 contend with the advent of rolling news and the 24 hour news cycle.
Vince Vaughn is to reprise the role of Ron Burgundy's arch-nemesis Wes Mantooth, while Christina Applegate hopes to return as Ron Burgundy's co-anchor Veronica Corningstone – although it’s believed she has scheduling difficulties.
Paul Rudd has also confirmed he will return as Brian Fantana, and that he has already began to grow his hair for the role.
Bridesmaid’s star Kristen Wiig has also signed on to play Rudd’s love interest in the movie.
Shooting is expected to begin on the sequel early next year.
